Even when the new Haswell chips are just around the corner, there are still plenty of manufacturers that are refreshing their lineups of devices with the older Ivy Bridge chips. This may be because some of these refreshes need to be done sooner or later. Fujitsu is another manufacturer that is refreshing one of the lineups of their laptops. We are talking about the E-series Lifebook by Fujitsu which is the company’s mainstream laptop series.
There are three laptop customizations in general. The E733 features the 13-inch laptops while the E743 are 14-inch laptops. The 15.6-inch laptops on the other hand falls under the E753. All three laptops feature two types of Ivy Bridge processors which are the Intel Core i5-3230M with a speed of up to 3.2GHz and the Intel Core i5-3340M with speeds up to 3.4GHz.
As with most Fujitsu laptops, you can customize the specification based on what you need. However, expect to spend more money for a customized system. You can choose up to 16GB of RAM or hybrid drives should you want to. Either way, the more you decided to put, the higher the expenses would be.
Besides that, there are two default configurations for any of the devices that you may choose from. The specifically priced fixed configuration offers a better option at a cheaper price. If you want the fixed configuration device, you need to fork out a minimum of only $999. The customizable option on the other hand is more expensive considering that the cheapest option starts at a price of $1,529. At that price, the configuration might not be as good as the one that you can get with the fixed configuration option.
What do you think about the new refresh? Is it worth to get considering that Haswell is coming up soon?
